Motivational Mondays

I hope you all had a great weekend! I can't believe how fast the break went by! Now, it's Monday, and you know what that means. Time for the quote of the week! My friend Aubrey at Musings of Mo sent me this quote to share with ya'll. She's the one that introduced me to this addicting thing called blogging. I love this girl to death. And her blog too. She's so talented and has a way with words (she really needs to become a writer). She is seriously the funniest. nicest. person. ever. But don't take my word for it. See for yourself.

So, so true.
Thanks Aubrey for sharing this quote with us.

Don't forget, if you have a quote you'd like to share e-mail it to me, and I'll post it the following Monday. :)

A Little Bit Of Everything

Hard to believe it's Saturday already!
I think I've been enjoying my Thanksgiving Break too much, and now I'm dreading Monday.

I completely forgot to tell you, but remember that paper in English that I had initially failed? And how our professor gave us another chance to re-do it since pretty much the whole class failed? I did it again, fixed some things, and passed! Yippee! Now I have to work on my 7 page persuasive paper. Yuck! I hate English class...

Also, I got my TOEFL results back and guess what! I speak English. Hahaha!  I got pretty high scores in all 4 sections. Come Monday I'll take my scores to the Nursing Department so they have record of them.

I can't wait for December 17th 'cause that's when my Nursing Orientation will be, and then I can get all registered for classes!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to run and get me a spicy McChicken and fries from McDonald's. Totally unhealthy, I know.

*Sorry, this post is a little bit random. But that's kind of what I had in mind today.

New: Motivational Mondays

Image From
I don't know about you but Mondays are so hard for me and for some other people I know. We wish the weekend could only last longer... but unfortunately we have to have Mondays and start the new week. Sometimes we could use a little bit of motivation. Even just a few words could help us keep on going for another week of work, school, or family responsibilities. Quotes give me hope and little bit of fuel when I'm not feeling so great. I got this idea off from Classycareergirl - I've decided that I'm going to be doing weekly posts on a motivational or funny quote that will get us going. Just some positiveness for goodness sake! What do you think?  Are you in with me on this one? Here's the first one!

This is the quote that stuck to me after watching Karate Kid (2010).
And if you haven't seen this movie yet, you NEED to.
THe. BesT.

If you have a great quote, video, or something funny you wanna share, e-mail me and I'll post it the following Monday, and I'll link it to your blog.  Or you can always write it in the comments.

Letter To Santa

Christmas is coming up so quickly and so are the "what do you want for Christmas Grecia?" questions too. I hate telling people what I want. So when my boyfriend and friends ask me what I want I tell them this:

If you want, you can pitch in to the textbook money piggy bank.
Or just buy me stuff for school.

Am I lame or what?
Here's the chance to ask for a car, the newest cell phone out there, an ipad, a $500 card for a shopping spree, or a paid vacation, and what do i ask for?

Stuff for school.

Seriously though that's like the best gift ever because it saves me money!
More money for me = more shopping money

The Nursing department was so kind to provide me with a list that I should probably include in my letter to Santa this holiday season.

Stethoscope

Protective Eyewear

Penlight

Blood Pressure Set

Watch with second hand
I love this Guess watch!
hint, hint

Bandage Scissors

Calipers

Scrubs.
And let me just say,
of all the colors they could have chosen they are asking for
Hunter Green ones.
Puke.
Why not pink?
Hahaha! I'd love to see the guys wearing pink scrubs. ;)

While I'm at it, does anybody know any medical supply stores around Utah that might sell all of these things?

What's on your letter to Santa this year?

Busy

What have I been doing lately you may ask?
  •  background checks
  • drug screenings
  • immunizations
  • physical exams
  • CPR certification
  • TOEFL test
TOEFL is an exam that pretty much tests your English skills.  This is only for those that don't have English as their first language.

As you can see Nursing school has a TONZ of requirements and those requirements require some mula. So pretty much I’ve spent $300+ with all these things, and I still need to buy my scrubs and some other items that are required.  Why does everything have to be about money?

Especially money that could be well spent on shopping.

Pretty

I'm lovin' my new look! To celebrate my acceptance into the Nursing Program, I decided that I was going to gift myself with a complete blog makeover.

Isn't cute?

I'm not very blog design savvy, so I decided to look into one of those awesome people that make your blog pretty and found the perfect person! Leah, over at Cutesie Blog Designs did it all for me. I was a little hesitant at first, 'cause I had no clue what to expect.  I've never done something like this before, but after I started working with her I felt so much better! She's so nice, and makes the process so easy to follow. And the best part - it's totally affordable and you come out with a beautiful blog! What a deal! Seriously.

I'm happy 'cause now my blog doesn't look hideous anymore.

It's perfect, and just the way I wanted it.  :)

Thanks Leah for for making my blog all cutesie!
You're pretty much the bomb!

I'm Going To Be A Nursing Student

I got accepted into the Nursing Program at UVU!

I still can't believe it as I'm writing this. I had been keeping my eye on the mail for the past few days.  And yesterday, as soon as i got home from school and before going to work I decided to pay the mailbox another visit... and then I saw it.  The envelope that said it all. I so did not want to open it up because i was super dooper scared of what it might say. I stopped for a moment, took a deep breath, gained some courage and ripped open that sucker. I unfolded the sheets, took the first page, and started reading.

Congratulations!  You have been accepted into our Nursing program...

That's about all i read at the moment because i started jumping up and down, and making calls to friends and family to spread the great news. I'm all pumped up for the Spring semester! I'm ready to get started in this new part of my life. :)

This blog is now officially The Adventures of a Nursing Student.
